In light of events such as Nimrod XV230, Buncefield, Flixborough, 3 mile island, Chinook 3, Mull of Kintyre, HMS Nottingham and others, Systems Safety Engineering has become an increasingly important factor in the design of products, systems and services.
If safety engineering is not properly addressed the consequences result in incidents and accidents, leading to personal injury and fatalities.
The implications of the recent Haddon Cave enquiry are far reaching and will impact all future government procurement. This will inevitably lead to contractual changes mandating improved governance regimes and stringent assessment of safety in defence programmes.
We act both as customer friend and as Independent Safety Assessors. We also provide safety engineering professionals to work with your design team to advise on complying with regulatory and contractual requirements.

Engagement at all levels
Throughout the last twenty years, there has been a general move within safety critical industries, to demonstrate to external stakeholders that there is a focus upon ‘safety’ throughout the life cycle of the ‘product or service’ that is developed, delivered, maintained / updated and operated in an ever changing external to the business environment.
Working within your organisation, we can help improve understanding, raising awareness and commitment at the very top level of the business to achieve a workable, dynamic and strategic safety culture that moves the company beyond mere acts of the publication of product compliance statements.
Our People
Quintec’s Safety specialists have significant experience in the assessment of safety and the development of domain and systems safety cases. Supporting Design Authorities, they plan, develop and implement Safety Management and Safety Engineering processes and help to foster the safety culture and understanding of Safety Assessment methods within your organisation.
Organisations that develop ‘Safety Related’ products and systems may choose to establish such skill sets internally. However, by developing close working relationships with client project teams, Quintec’s Safety consultants establish long term pro-active and meaningful working relationships. This leads to increased learning amongst programme teams helping to provide specific project responses to key safety questions and perhaps more importantly, to nurture the safety culture within your business.
We have built up significant safety experience in a number of domains and have the practical experience, knowledge of the appropriate standards and differing cultures in many sectors.
