SC21 Awareness & Diagnostic 'Springboard' workshop

You are invited to attend the SC21 Awareness & Diagnostic ‘Springboard’ workshop on 11th Febraury, 2010 at Mountbatten House, Basingstoke from 09.30 to 17.15

Darwin observed that “It is not the strongest species that survive, nor the most intelligent; it is the ones most responsive to change”. Dr W. Edwards Deming added the sobering comment that “Survival is not compulsory”!

What is SC21 and why do we need it?

International competition, together with the challenges posed by the defence industrial strategy, necessitates rapid improvement in the effectiveness of our supply chains. At the same time, industry must ensure that it delivers competitive solutions for customers whilst maintaining profitable business growth.

SC21 (The Twenty First Century Supply Chain Programme) is a change programme designed to accelerate the competitiveness of the aerospace and defence industry by raising the performance of its supply chains. The aim is to standardise processes, remove duplication and hence reduce costs, improve communications and collaboration, increase efficiency and simplicity, and increase innovation.

What is the purpose of the Workshops?

The purpose of the SC21 awareness and diagnostic workshop is to:

· inform you of SC21, the UK Aerospace and Defence industries nations programme to change business culture

· provide you with an appreciation of the various ‘tools and methods’ that are integral to SC21 and how they may be applied in your organisation

· examine SC21 in detail and how it could be applied in your supply chain (Customers and Key Suppliers)

· give you an insight into how other organisations have achieved success through the implementation of SC21

· provide you with a ‘spring-board’ for your continuous improvement activity and recognition of achievement

· provide you with an overview of how funding will be provided to support the programme
